Our Leadership

Landon Baker

Director of Community Life, Discipleship, & Formation

Landon was welcomed into the VFC community in 2017.

He quickly joined the musical worship team, and was on staff as the office manager for a year, and then (after a brief stint teaching choir at a local classical school) he rejoined staff as part of our creative team. In his current role as the Director of Community Life, Discipleship, and Formation, he is passionate about seeing each person who walks through the doors of VFC find community that is rooted and established in the truth and the joy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He firmly believes in living out Ephesians 4, in order that the body of Christ in Santa Cruz would be equipped to deliver the gospel in their daily lives. His greatest joy is encouraging and equipping people in our congregation to press in to the gifts that God has given them through service both inside and outside the walls of 350 Mission Street.

A Santa Cruz native, he lives in midtown with his lovely wife Sarah. They have one daughter, Jane Hosanna, who went to be with Jesus in April of 2020, and one son, Arthur Fermata, who went to be with Jesus in September of 2021. Landon is completing a Master’s Program with Western Seminary, and looks forward to serving in this community for years to come. On days of rest, you can find him reading, walking, gardening, and learning a variety of musical instruments.
