Kristin leads and gives oversight to the Community Group ministry, and supports the Theodyssey Spiritual Formation Ministry, SoulKitchen Ministry for Women, the Local Justice & Compassion Ministry and GlobalTeam. She also designs and directs much of the larger church communication and occasionally teaches in the main worship gatherings. Kristin loves to travel and lives with mild regret about not studying cultural anthropology. Typefaces are very important to her.
Kristin is an Ohio-born, Santa Cruz-raised graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz, with a Bachelors in American and British Literature. She has an eclectic and wonderful family whom she is very fond of and hangs out with often. Raised without much formal "religious" influence (but lots of love) she decided to follow Jesus at age 18, which was as much a surprise to her as anyone else. But it was one of those good surprises that seems to just get better with time.
Before coming on staff at Vintage Faith in 2004, she lived in England for her year-abroad in college and served for 3 years with various ministries at Graceland such as the college group Odyssey and the creative arts team Eclectics. She is passionate about seeing people connect deeply with each other and God and often stands in disbelief that she actually gets paid to do what she loves.
Kristin enjoys film, live music, traveling, reading, cultures of all kinds, the beach when it’s warm out and above all, socializing whenever she can. She also likes deep conversations, inside jokes, laughter, having a stack of half read books by the bed, writing, blogging (though she is embarrassed to admit it), and discovering new things. She lives in a beach shack in Seabright with two lovely friends and is engaged to be married in September 2010 to Brian, who also shares her love of typeface and travel.
